Steps to be done when installing on an Asus Eee Top.
(Apologies for the partial instructions; the Recovery CD does not restore the computer to the exact same factory defaults)
- 1) Welcome to Microsoft Windows.
- Follow the instructions to finish the Windows installation
- 2) Disable easy mode.
- Use regular mode. Prevent easy mode wizard from starting up automatically. (Disable it completely)
- 3) Change DPI
- Eee Screen Setting (shorcut on desktop)
- Choose the small font size in the Eee Screen Setting but keep 1366x768 resolution

- Right click on the Desktop -> Properties
- Settings tab, Click advanced
- General tab, DPI setting : Normal size (96 dpi)
- OK -> restart if necessary.
- 4) Computer performance
- Click on the Eee bar to make it appear
- Click on Eee Manager
- ASHE tab. Select Super Performance
- 5) Disable the Eee Bar from auto launching
- Start -> Run.
- Msconfig
- In the startup tab, uncheck EMMessageParser, AsAPHider, and AsPowerTray
- Apply, Close, Restart
- 6) Hide System Configuration Utility
- Check the Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows starts checkbox
- Hit OK.
- If you accidentally open it, Hit Cancel.
- 7) If you hear sounds every time you click anywhere, uninstall the Risin TouchPanel Driver.
- (May be in add/remove programs. If not, do the following)
- Insert the support DVD DHS214.
- In the drivers panel, click on Risin Touchpanel Driver to remove it.
- 8) Install CertBlast (http://www.lavablast.com/en/lb_certblastinstructions.aspx)
- Keep the resolution to 1366x768
